About Dr. Canfield: Dr. Michael Canfield is a southern Mississippi native, who graduated from Mississippi State College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. Dr. Canfield developed a special interest in veterinary dermatology during his college career. He completed his dermatology residency with Animal Dermatology Clinic located in Tustin, California. Dr. Canfield continued with Animal Dermatology Clinic in Marietta, GA on a regular basis until March of 2008. Dr. Canfield enjoys all aspects of veterinary dermatology, including small animal and equine allergic skin diseases, dermatophytosis (ring worm), ear diseases, and endocrinopathies (hormone-related diseases). Additionally, Dr. Canfield enjoys traditional surgery, cryosurgery, laser surgery, and internal medicine.
About Behavioral Medicine at Florida Veterinary Specialists: Veterinary behavior consultations are available for dogs, cats, small mammals and birds with behavior problems. Commonly seen behavior problems include: aggression, separation anxiety, fears/phobias, storm phobia, unruly behaviors, house soiling, new baby preparation, puppy/kitten evaluation and compulsive behaviors.![]()
About Dr. Radosta: Dr. Lisa Radosta is board certified by the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists. She is a native of Florida and graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. After a one-year small animal medicine and surgery internship, she practiced general medicine in Southeast Florida for 2 ½ years. In 2006, she completed a three-year residency in behavioral medicine at the Matthew J. Ryan Veterinary Hospital at the University of Pennsylvania. While at the University of Pennsylvania, she received the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists Resident Research Award in 2005 and 2006. Dr. Radosta’s research interests include the affect of organic diseases (such as thyroid disease) on the behavior of domestic animals and the effect of doctor-client communication on the outcome of canine aggression cases. She has written many articles and has lectured across the country and internationally.
